Heidi Nikou
Business Manager

Heidi has a long history with the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation beginning her journey during high school when family friend and Foundation Director Betty Roberts offered her a chance to assist Mr. Allen Clowes with household duties in Woods Hole, MA, and Indianapolis. Throughout her junior and senior years, Heidi held temporary roles for Mr. Clowes.

After earning her BS degree from Ball State University, Heidi gained experience in various administrative and personnel positions before joining the Foundation in 2007. As Office Manager and Grant Administrator—roles also previously held by her mother—Heidi thrives on providing support for the Foundation’s Directors, Grant Applicants, and Grantees. In addition, Heidi oversees general office operations, facility management, grants management responsibilities, and the Foundation’s internal accounting operations. Heidi works closely with Jim, Liz, and the Board to plan the fielding, execution and monitoring of all grant activities, and provides quality control of grantmaking procedures and systems.

Outside of work, Heidi cherishes time with her husband, family, and pets. She is passionate about animal welfare, caring for several house rabbits, and fostering for the Indiana House Rabbit Society, where she serves on the board. Additionally, she is an avid birdwatcher, enjoys organic gardening, and loves raising butterflies.
